StayPut turns your iPhone into an audible motion alarm. You place the iPhone with or against something you want to monitor, arm StayPut, and movement of the iPhone can trigger an audible alarm.

Position the iPhone where movement should be detected, then slide to arm. StayPut waits for the phone to settle, briefly prepares its motion baseline, and monitoring begins when the app reaches the Armed state.

Stillness gives StayPut a stable starting point for motion detection. It also helps avoid treating movement while you are placing the phone as an alarm event.

Return to StayPut and use the disarm control. During an active protection session, StayPut requires owner authentication with Face ID before it disarms.

StayPut uses the iPhone's motion sensors and triggers when movement exceeds the Motion Sensitivity setting you selected.

Low requires larger movement before triggering. Medium is the balanced default. High detects smaller movement.

Confirm StayPut reached Armed, check Motion Sensitivity, and make sure the iPhone itself actually moved. Also check that the protection duration has not ended. Try High sensitivity if you need StayPut to react to smaller movements.

Alarm Delay is the configured period between movement detection and the alarm sounding. If Alarm Delay is set to None, StayPut starts the alarm immediately after movement is detected.

StayPut's alarm is only useful if people nearby can hear it. The app warns when volume may be too low, but it does not prevent you from arming.

The current audio route can affect where the alarm is heard. StayPut may warn if headphones, earbuds, a Bluetooth speaker, or another external route is selected. Check the output route before relying on the alarm, and disconnect Bluetooth audio if you want sound from the iPhone speaker.

The heartbeat sound is an optional subtle periodic confirmation and deterrent sound during an armed session.

Once armed, StayPut is designed to continue monitoring while the iPhone is locked or the app is in the background during the protection session.
